The short version

The app and this website are two different things, and this policy covers both separately.

The app collects nothing. There is no account to create, no server to talk to, and no analytics or crash-reporting SDK bundled with QuickSwitch. Everything in the next four sections describes the app.

The website you are reading uses analytics and shows a single ad, which is what pays for hosting. That is covered at the bottom of this page.

The app: what stays on your Mac

Window titles and application names are read from macOS only while the switcher is open, and are used solely to render the list you see. They are never written to a remote service.

Your favorites, keyboard shortcuts, and appearance preferences are stored locally in the app's own preferences file.

The app: system permissions

To list and activate windows, macOS requires QuickSwitch to be granted Accessibility access in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility. This permission is used exclusively to enumerate open windows and bring the one you pick to the front. You can revoke it at any time.

The app: network access

QuickSwitch works fully offline. The app does not phone home, and no telemetry, identifiers, or usage statistics are transmitted.

This website: analytics and the ad slot

Everything above describes the app. This section covers the site you are reading right now, which does use third-party services.

This site uses Google Analytics to count visits, and Google AdSense to show one ad near the bottom of the home page. Both set cookies and may use your IP address and browsing activity for measurement and ad personalisation, as described in Google's own privacy policy. None of this reaches the app, and none of it can see anything on your Mac — the ad is on the website only, and there will never be one inside QuickSwitch.

App downloads are served directly from this website. The sponsorship links point to GitHub Sponsors, and the share buttons open the relevant social network. Those services have their own privacy policies and apply only when you choose to use them.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be published here and noted in the release notes on GitHub.
